OASYS Strategic Partnerships

OASYS Healthcare Partners with LOC Medical

At OASYS Healthcare, we believe that patient care extends beyond clinical treatment. Comfort, accessibility, and thoughtful design all play an important role in how patients experience their time in a healthcare environment. As hospitals continue to prioritize patient-centered care, patient entertainment systems have become an increasingly important part of that experience.

We’re excited to announce our partnership with LOC Medical, strengthening our ability to support patient entertainment systems across Canada.

This partnership brings together OASYS Healthcare’s expertise in medical spring arms and support systems with LOC Medical’s experience in patient entertainment solutions, helping healthcare providers create more comfortable and accessible environments for their patients.

The Evolution of Patient Entertainment

Patient entertainment has changed significantly over the past decade. What was once limited to television access has evolved into integrated digital platforms that support a wide range of patient needs.

Today’s systems allow patients to stream content, stay connected with family and friends, access hospital information, and engage with educational materials. These capabilities can help reduce stress, improve satisfaction, and create a more positive experience during a hospital stay.

As these systems continue to evolve, so do expectations around performance, accessibility, and reliability. Healthcare providers need more than just advanced technology. They need solutions that integrate seamlessly into their facilities and are easy for patients and caregivers to use.

Working Together with LOC Medical

Through our partnership with LOC Medical, we’re strengthening our ability to support healthcare facilities looking for reliable and accessible patient entertainment solutions.

By combining our expertise in medical support systems with LOC Medical’s patient entertainment solutions, we can help healthcare providers deliver technology that is both practical and comfortable for everyday use.

This collaboration reflects our shared focus on providing healthcare facilities with dependable solutions that improve the patient experience.

The Role of OASYS Healthcare

While much of the attention surrounding patient entertainment is placed on screens and software, the physical systems supporting these technologies are just as important.

Devices need to be positioned correctly, move smoothly, and remain secure in demanding healthcare environments.

OASYS Healthcare specializes in medical spring arms and support systems designed to meet these needs. Our solutions provide stability, flexibility, and ease of use, helping ensure bedside technology remains accessible to patients and caregivers.

By allowing patients to comfortably position their entertainment systems, our spring arms help make bedside technology more practical and enjoyable to use.

We’re excited about what this partnership means for OASYS Healthcare, LOC Medical, and the healthcare facilities we support.

As patient entertainment technology continues to advance, we’re committed to working with partners who share our focus on quality, reliability, and improving the patient experience.

Together with LOC Medical, we look forward to supporting healthcare providers across Canada with solutions that make a meaningful difference in patient care.

Operating Rooms are Getting Smarter

Smart Hospital

Healthcare technology is constantly evolving, and one area seeing significant changes is the patient room. Hospitals are introducing new technologies designed to improve patient comfort, communication, and the overall healthcare experience. From interactive bedside displays to connected entertainment systems, today’s patient rooms are becoming smarter and more personalized.

As healthcare facilities continue to modernize, these advancements are changing how patients interact with their surroundings and how healthcare professionals deliver care.

What Is a Smart Hospital Room?

A smart hospital room uses connected technology to make the patient experience more comfortable, convenient, and interactive. Rather than relying solely on traditional televisions and nurse call buttons, these rooms can incorporate digital systems that give patients greater control over their environment and access to important information.

Depending on the facility, smart room technology can include interactive bedside monitors, patient entertainment systems, digital communication tools, and automated room controls.

For patients, this might mean being able to watch television, access educational content, communicate with their care team, or adjust certain room settings from a single device.

For healthcare providers, these technologies can create new opportunities to share information, improve communication, and support more efficient workflows.

Hospitals Are Investing in Connected Patient Rooms

The shift toward smarter patient rooms is already underway.

Healthcare organizations are increasingly recognizing the value of connected technology in improving the patient experience. One example is AdventHealth, which has been working toward introducing smart room technology across thousands of hospital rooms.

According to the American Hospital Association, AdventHealth has been pursuing plans to equip approximately 13,000 rooms across 57 hospitals with smart technology by the end of 2026.

This investment highlights how digital patient room technology is becoming an important consideration for healthcare facilities.

As more hospitals explore similar upgrades, medical equipment manufacturers and technology providers have opportunities to develop solutions that support these changing environments.

However, introducing new technology involves more than simply installing additional screens and devices. Hospitals must also consider how equipment will be positioned, accessed, maintained, and integrated into existing patient rooms.

Patient Entertainment Is Evolving

Patient entertainment has traditionally focused on providing access to television and other forms of media during a hospital stay.

While entertainment remains important, modern bedside systems are expanding beyond these basic functions.

Interactive patient displays can now support a variety of applications, including educational resources, hospital information, communication tools, and entertainment options.

These features can help patients feel more informed and connected throughout their stay.

For example, a patient recovering from surgery may be able to access educational information about their recovery directly from a bedside display. Another patient might use the same system to watch television, review hospital services, or communicate with their healthcare team.

By bringing multiple functions together, these systems can make the patient experience more convenient while helping healthcare facilities deliver information in an accessible format.

As these technologies continue to develop, the equipment used to support them becomes an increasingly important part of the overall patient room design.

Why Equipment Positioning Matters

When discussing smart hospital rooms, much of the attention naturally goes toward the technology itself. However, how that technology is installed and positioned can have a significant impact on its usability.

A bedside display needs to be easily accessible to the patient without interfering with healthcare professionals or other equipment in the room.

Patients may also have different positioning requirements depending on their mobility, medical condition, or preferred viewing angle.

This is where flexible equipment mounting solutions become particularly valuable.

A properly selected patient entertainment arm allows supported devices to be repositioned to accommodate different viewing angles and patient needs.

For example, a patient may want to bring a screen closer while sitting upright in bed or move it out of the way when resting.

Healthcare professionals also benefit from equipment that can be repositioned when additional space is needed for patient care.

The goal is to create an environment where technology is accessible without becoming an obstacle.

Designing Patient Rooms Around Flexibility

One of the challenges healthcare facilities face when introducing new technology is accommodating it within existing spaces.

Patient rooms often contain beds, medical devices, furniture, and other essential equipment. Adding interactive displays or entertainment systems requires careful consideration of how everything fits together.

Every room is different, and the ideal mounting solution can depend on several factors, including the size and weight of the device, the required range of movement, and the specific requirements of the room.

Flexibility is especially important because patient needs can change throughout a hospital stay.

A mounting system that allows equipment to be adjusted or moved aside can help accommodate different activities without requiring permanent changes to the room layout.

For medical equipment manufacturers, selecting the right mounting system early in the design process can also help ensure that their devices are properly supported and easy to use.

As smart room technology continues to evolve, adaptable equipment support will remain an important consideration for both manufacturers and healthcare facilities.

The Importance of Patient Comfort and Independence

Beyond introducing new technology, smart hospital rooms are also about improving the everyday experience of patients.

Hospital stays can be stressful, particularly when patients are recovering from surgery, managing an illness, or spending extended periods away from home.

Having access to entertainment, information, and communication tools can help make that experience more comfortable.

Interactive bedside systems may also give patients greater independence by allowing them to access certain features without requiring assistance.

However, these benefits depend on the technology being easy to reach, view, and operate.

A screen that is difficult to position or located outside a comfortable viewing range may limit how effectively a patient can use it.

By combining accessible technology with flexible mounting systems, healthcare facilities can create patient rooms that better accommodate individual preferences and needs.

Supporting the Next Generation of Patient Rooms

At OASYS Healthcare, we understand that reliable equipment support plays an important role in creating functional healthcare environments.

Our patented Patient Entertainment Arms are designed to support bedside entertainment and display systems, providing flexible positioning to help patients comfortably access their devices. We work with medical equipment manufacturers and healthcare partners to help identify mounting solutions that meet their equipment requirements and intended applications.

Whether a facility is upgrading existing patient entertainment systems or introducing new bedside technology, selecting the right support solution is an important part of the process.

As patient rooms become increasingly connected, we’re committed to helping our customers find practical, reliable solutions that support these advancements.

Looking Ahead

The future of hospital rooms is becoming more connected, interactive, and patient-focused.

As healthcare facilities continue investing in digital technology, the way patients interact with their surroundings will continue to evolve.

From entertainment and education to communication and accessibility, smart room technology has the potential to make hospital stays more comfortable and convenient.

Behind these advancements is the need for equipment that is properly supported, accessible, and easy to position.

At OASYS Healthcare, we’re excited to support the continued evolution of patient room technology and help our customers create healthcare environments that work better for everyone.

CHES National Conference

OASYS Healthcare at CHES National Conference

The OASYS Healthcare team recently returned from the 2026 CHES National Conference in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, and we had a fantastic time connecting with healthcare professionals from across Canada.

Held September 20–22 at the St. John’s Convention Centre, CHES brought together people from across the healthcare facilities, engineering, design, operations, and maintenance industries. It was a great few days of conversations, new connections, and, of course, the opportunity to experience a little bit of what St. John’s has to offer.

A Great Few Days in St. John’s

One of our favourite parts of attending events like CHES is simply getting the opportunity to meet people face-to-face.

Throughout the conference, we welcomed attendees to our booth, caught up with familiar faces, met plenty of new ones, and had some great conversations about the work happening in healthcare facilities across the country.

We also had the opportunity to showcase our Patient Infotainment Arms and talk about how OASYS solutions are being used to support healthcare environments in Canada and beyond.

Our General Manager, Rob Mann, summed up the experience:

“It was a great pleasure to exhibit and be part of CHES 2026 in St. John’s, Newfoundland. St. John’s, thank you for showing us some of Canada’s beauty. Having the opportunity to discuss our patented Patient Entertainment Arms with our fellow Canadians was unforgettable.”

More Than Just a Tradeshow

While we always enjoy showing people what we do at OASYS, some of the most valuable parts of CHES were the conversations happening around the booth.

Hearing directly from healthcare professionals gives us a better understanding of what facilities are looking for, the challenges they’re facing, and where products like ours can make a difference.

It also gives us a chance to talk through real applications rather than simply showing a product. Those conversations and relationships are a big part of why we continue to value events like this one.

Thank You, CHES!

A big thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to say hello, ask a question, or learn a little more about OASYS Healthcare. We really enjoyed meeting you.

We’d also like to thank CHES and everyone involved in organizing this year’s conference. It was a great event and a fantastic opportunity to spend a few days with Canada’s healthcare community.

And finally, thank you to the city of St. John’s for being such a wonderful host. We enjoyed our time in Newfoundland and were grateful for the opportunity to experience another beautiful part of Canada.

We’re heading home with plenty of great conversations, new connections, and memories from CHES 2026.
